You can resume normal activities, drive yourself home or return to work immediately after the treatment. However you should avoid touching the treated area for 4 hours, and remain up-right in this time. Exercise should be avoided for 4 hours after the treatment, and the area should not be massaged for 24 hours. It is safe to fly the day after treatment. You are advised to attend for a free 2-week review after your first treatment. Follow ups are generally not required for subsequent treatments.

Anyone who is pregnant, breast feeding or suffering from severe neuromuscular disorders, Bell’s palsy or blood coagulation disorders, are not suitable for treatment.

It only takes 4-5 days for the injections to begin to take effect and 10 – 14 days for full effect. Occasionally a small bruise may occur at the injection site – this can be covered with make-up. In very rare circumstances patients may experience heaviness or descent of the eyebrow or eyelid which may last a few weeks. Prior to your treatment the practitioner will assess your risk of this event and therefore adjust you treatment accordingly.
